Our tests.
Here at Satellite Superstore we do not introduce a new receiver to our product range without extensively testing
it first. Here are the results of the tests. SD and HD picture quality excellent as good as it gets.
Recording on the hard drive. Works like a Sky + and Sky HD in that it has many similar trick play facilities
like live pause etc. Playback of HD files in full HD no problems perfect recordings.
No. of channels. Linux boxes tend to be virtually unlimited. With other makes they can exceed 20,000 channels
which is 3 times the number available in the Sky on a standard motorized dish.
Menu structure easy to use. Build quality - excellent - see picture. Software support - good.
Alpha numeric display on the front of receiver details channel names and menu information. Picture in picture.
(See screen shot below) Can play back MP3, picture and DIVX, (video), files from its internal hard drive using
the music or photo button on the handset. Files can be loaded into the internal drive using an FTP program.
It can also play back MP3 files and display pictures that are on the internal drive inside your PC providing
the PC is connected to the same network 2 cam slots and 2 card readers the card readers can be configured
with 3rd party software but please note that we cant support info. on 3rd part software. This is the first
HD twin tuner PVR we have seen with embedded card readers.
Web interface control the receiver from any computer. Stream video to any computer.
Conclusion. This is the first high definition Linux twin tuner PVR we have seen and it is a first class
flagship model. Very impressed.

Update Oct. 08 We are now loading channel data into all AB IP Boxes. About 20 satellites,
many channels from all of the main satellites are being scanned in for you. Astra 2, Astra 1, Hotbird and many
other satellites. The makes for a plug in and use straight away receiver on a fixed dish and mostly programmed
for you on a motorised dish. Clearly this also means that your receiver has been fully tested before shipping.
All receivers sent out are packed in an outer box to protect the manufacturers box.
We like receivers to arrive at the customer in perfect condition.
Hard copy English manuals are included. Every receiver is individually tested even to the extent of a test
recording on the hard drive.
Our own 6 page booklet detailing setting up with a motorised dish, loading
software, many other useful tips including details on how to solve various problems (like how to use the PC
editing software) is now included due to our extensive testing and feedback from customers.

Notes, This are not a computer drive and cannot be bought from computer stores or
on-line computer suppliers. It is an AV drive developed for digital AV recording
applications. These drives are normally only supplied to the big manufacturers of
DVD writers, digital VCRs, satellite receiver PVRs, security digital time shift recorders etc.
These drives have been specially designed for AV use offering cool running high video
recording performance and as such tend to be a little more expensive than computer
"data recording" hard drives. The problem with normal computer (data) drives is that
they can pixillate or produce freezing while playback, or fail completely
resulting in valuable recordings are lost! or produce too much heat.
These excellent AV drives are inside all of our PVR Dreambox 600 that we sell and as
such are thoroughly tried and tested and sold in large numbers without any problems at all.
Yes it is easy to fit a hard drive yourself later on if you buy the hard drive ready 600,
just unplug from the mains supply, take the lid off, fit with 4 screws and connect the lead,
exactly the same process as fitting a hard drive in a computer but please fit only at a
static-safe work station as all hard drives contain static sensitive components and
can be damaged if anti-static precautions are not taken. Hard drives also needs formatting
and this is done in the receivers menu system once fitted. Better still, you can buy the
Dreambox 600 with the hard drive fitted above
If you do buy the drive for fitting later, remember these drives offer the best AV performance.
Using any old drive "lying around" is not a good idea!

The TM-9100 is a PVR ready Satellite Receiver that uses a Sharp tuner which is both sensitive
and fast, having a low-threshold which enables it to find and capture weak signals.
The booting of the TM-9100 is very fast, taking less than 10 seconds from power OFF.
In Standby Mode, when the TM-9100 is turned ON, the booting is instantaneous, taking
less than 1 second.
The TM-9100 can be updated via memory card by the 9in1 card reader, being able to upload
and download (backup) data, view photos, play music, etc. This can be used simultaneously
with the Hard Drive. Multi Booting from the HDD, Memory Card and Flash is also available.
The TM-9100 has a built-in fan which is quiet and is only active when the hard drive overheats.
The TM-9100 is based on Enigma open source and is capable of: Tuxbox project, Telnet, etc.

The TM 9100 is available in, an unopened box form above. Many customers, however, prefer the box
to be properly prepared with all of the correct latest software and including a fully prepared 1 Gb SD card.
This means that the unit is all ready and any additional 3rd party software can be loaded into the SD card.
This is what we do,
1. We load in the very latest manufacturers official software into the flash memory of the box. This eliminates
the problems of damaging the flash memory by the end user if the loading is done incorrectly.
2. We then insert a free 1Gb SD card, format it and set up I boot and a 64Mb swap file so that the TM 9100 is
ready for the loading of any additional software that you may require. The additional software can then be
loaded into the SD card which offers two important advantages. The receiver accesses the SD card faster than
its own memory and this results in more speed and stability. The extra additional software is going onto the
SD card and not into the TM 9100 and so accidental damage to the receiver by incorrect loading etc. is
minimised as only the SD card is being used for this purpose. Please note that "I Boot" also needs downloading
onto a PC so that software can be loaded to the SD card in the TM9100.
This option is only available when you buy a TM9100 from us. Please note that the cost of this option
(£19.95) is for the time taken to prepare the TM9100 before shipping it.

The embedded hard drive is not a computer drive and cannot be bought from computer stores
or on-line computer suppliers. It is an AV drive developed for digital AV recording
applications. These drives are normally only supplied to the big manufacturers of
DVD writers, digital VCRs, satellite receiver PVRs, security digital time shift recorders etc.
These drives have been specially designed for AV use offering cool running high video
recording performance and as such tend to be a little more expensive than computer
"data recording" hard drives. The problem with normal computer (data) drives is that
they can pixillate or produce freezing while playback, or fail completely
resulting in valuable recordings are lost! or produce too much heat.
These excellent AV drives are inside all of our Dreambox 7025-Si PVRs that we sell and as
such are thoroughly tried and tested and sold in large numbers without any problems at all.

Network Sender Kit - Homeplug Turbo
Puts a network point anywhere in the house where there is a mains socket.
Each unit can both send and receive. Initially two of these units are needed. They are both identical.
Plug one into a mains socket near the router. Connect a network lead from the router to the Homeplug Turbo.
Plug a second unit into a mains socket in the room where you need the network point.
Then a network lead to the computer or satellite receiver. The data is transferred through

Just like the TV eye link system used for Sky Digiboxes, this system works with all receivers.
It all works with the existing UHF distribution system in your home.
Control up to three devices. One remote link eye includes for one remote room. Extra
SLX link eyes for more rooms are abailable below.
Connect up the link to the satellite receiver and the TV link at the end of the cable in the remote
room and have full contol of the satellite receiver from that room.

UHF Modulator
Many high definition receivers do not have a UHF modulator built into them (this is the Aerial in and out
connections on the back) The reason for this is that manufacturers do not consider UHF to be of sufficiently high
quality to justified inclusion in an HD receiver. However, many people do have a UHF distribution system in their
home so that they can view channels in many rooms. If the only outputs on a receiver are scart and HDMI it
is not possible to connect into the distribution system and pipe the satellite around the house.
This modulator solves this problem. You can scart the satellite signal into the modulator and feed the UHF output into the
distribution system. The frequency (channel) can be set so that it does not interfere with other
items (aerial, DVD etc.) that may also be on the system. This is a very useful product.
