UHF Modulator
Many high definition receivers do not have a UHF modulator built into them (this is the Aerial in and out
connections on the back) The reason for this is that manufacturers do not consider UHF to be of sufficiently high
quality to justified inclusion in an HD receiver. However, many people do have a UHF distribution system in their
home so that they can view channels in many rooms. If the only outputs on a receiver are scart and HDMI it
is not possible to connect into the distribution system and “pipe” the satellite around the house.
This modulator solves this problem. You can scart the satellite signal into the modulator and feed the UHF output into the
distribution system. The frequency (channel) can be set so that it does not interfere with other
items (aerial, DVD etc.) that may also be on the system. This is a very useful product.

XRAY radio remote extender.
Wireless control for all receivers.
This is a wireless system of extending the remote control to other rooms.
It is not infra red - it uses radio frequencies that will pass through walls and
have a long range. Simply walk into any room with your handset (or extra handset)
and you can control your satellite receiver wherever it is in the house.

The new Freesat service on 28E.
The new Freesat boxes can be connected to a standard Sky Mini dish or any dish pointing at Astra 2 at 28E
although a standard 60cm dish does work better. Or the clear transparent 60cm dish
This service will include standard definition (SD) and high definition (HD) programs.
Freesat is a new UK service and have a new dedicated electronic program guide (EPG) that is only suitable for
28E and like a Sky receiver, provides detailed channel listings.
The EPG details program listings in advance and is considerably more detailed than in free to air, or CI, SD and HD
standard receiver.

Freesat receivers are not really suitable for any other satellite than 28E. They only have auto scanning on 28.
That means every transponder would have to be scanned manually on every satellite. This could take a day to do
just one satellite.
Accessing new channels in the menus is not easy and requires a number of button pushes every time.
Standard free to air and CI type satellite receivers.
Standard receiver do work on all free to air channels.
There could be an issue with the "red button access" used on Freesat receivers and ITV may not work on some
standard receivers. There are no issues with getting all Freesat channels on the
Technomate 6900
HD receiver.
Standard receivers are available in high definition and some are twin tuner PVRs (like a Sky plus or Sky HD).
They let you record one channel and watch another. Pause live footage etc.

If you want to run a Sky Plus / HD or a Freesat receiver using the one dish fitted
with a Triax multibracket kit you need to add this option. The normal receiver will pick up the
signal from the Astra 1 and Hotbird LNB and one output from the twin (4 output) LNB. This will all go
through the switch down one cable to the receiver. The second output of the twin LNB
can go down a second cable to the Sky or Freesat box. The two receiver can then be watched on

Upgrade a single LNB to a QUAD 0.1dB LNB

If the quad LNB option is to be used with the 3 or 4 multiconnect LNB dish kits and
you want to run a Sky Plus / HD or a Freesat receiver using the one dish fitted
with a Triax multibracket kit you need to add this option. The normal receiver will pick up
the signal from the Astra 1 and Hotbird LNB and one output from the quad (4 output) LNB. This will
all go through the switch down one cable to the receiver. The third and third outputs of the quad LNB
can go down two more cables to the Sky or Freesat box. The two receiver can then be watched on
(e.g.) AV 1 and AV 2 (or e.g. channel 7 and 8) on the TV. This puts both systems onto
one dish.

If the Octo LNB option is to be used with the 2 sat Triax multibracket LNB dish kit and
you want to run several receivers including a Sky Plus / HD or a Freesat receiver using the one
dish fitted with a Triax multibracket kit you need to add this option. The normal receiver will pick
up the signal from the Astra 1 and Hotbird LNB and one output from the Octo (8 output) LNB. This will
all go through the switch down one cable to the receiver. Other outputs of the Octo LNB
