A very small 12V HD satellite receiver. 155mm by 85mm by 35mm. See the watch (watch not included) to

This is a multisatellite free to air satellite receiver. It will receive the free UK channels on Astra 2
at 28E and other satellites. The remote control extender lead means that it can be put
into a cupboard and the lead with sensor can be brought out of the cupboard allowing full remote
control of the receiver. Or is could be tucked behind a TV with the lead brought round to the
side or front of the TV. The unit has a USB socket. This can be used for loading new software

How does the Vu Cube work?
In the days of analogue, it was possible to find the satellite quickly without needing a meter.
Just point the dish south and with an offset dish, make sure the face of the dish is approx. vertical
Move the dish right and left and a little up and down and the picture appeared on the tv in a
couple of minutes. In the days of digital this is not possible as there is a 3 or 4 second
delay in the digital signal. That means with the dish connected to the satellite receiver
and the receiver connected to the TV, assuming again you can see the TV from where you are
adjusting the dish, the dish has past the satellite before the signal appears on the TV screen.
That is why you need a satellite meter when using a tripod dish kit.
The VuQube gets round these problems in a very novel way. First the up and down variable is removed.
The dish in the Qube has self leveling and the elevation for your location is entered into the
handset from a chart. That means when you go right and left you WILL go through the satellite you
are looking for. Then three other factors help you -
1. The handset tells you the satellite is either east or west of the correct location on the dish
You only have to move in one direction to find it.
2 & 3. The dish has a wide acceptance angle and the motor moves slowly.
That means the dish sees the satellite long enough for it to appear on the TV.
All of this is time consuming to explain, but in practice, using the handset,

will by using TracVision domes. This is a world wide company with head offices in the States. It is
the
premium dome available anywhere in the world. Your RV or motorhome
deserves a TracVision dome.
This dome is renouned for it's reliability. The dome is flexible. If hit by an object, it flexes and this
helps prevent breaking. It uses a separate control cable. That means when powered down (unlike domes that use
the LNB cable for control) it stays on satellite. This is important when using it stationary on a site. The
control panel is simple - only on and off! With other domes, to change satellite you first have to select
the satellite on the control panel, then select the satellite with the satellite receiver. The TracVision
only needs selection using the satellite receiver handset only. It does the rest for you. Attention to
detail - most domes when you take off the dome lid, all the nuts fall off the bottom. The TracVision uses
captive nuts so everything is easy. Some domes have a reputation for poor reliability, The TracVision
is extremely reliable. Most domes are equivalent to a 40cm dish. These domes lose the signal in bad
weather and are a problem in fringe areas. The Tracvision is equivalent to a good 60/65cm dish and
provides all-weather capability and a wider range of reception areas. It achieves this by being bigger,
but the increased size is not height but a larger footprint (circle - 81cm) on the motohome's roof.
There is usually plenty of room on the roof anyway so no problem here. This is the ultimate dome

TracVision self-seeking dome R4sl.
Upgradeable to a tracking R5sl. Available in black or white.
Automatically finds the satellite while stationary This is the si (slimeline) version.
The R4sl (slimline) is equivalent to a good 60cm dish. Tested from northern Scotland to
southern France. Works on all channels on Astra 2 without problems. (A small number of
channels may not work all of the time in some parts of southern France from Astra 2.)

TracVision are a market leader for build quality and design. Check-out the yachts in Monoco harbour -
many will by using TracVision domes. This is a world wide company with head offices in the States.
It is
the premium dome available anywhere in the world. Your RV or motorhome
deserves a TracVision dome. This dome is renouned for it's reliability.
The dome is flexible. If hit by an object, it flexes and this helps prevent breaking.

a site. The control panel is simple - only on and off! With other domes, to change satellite
you first have to select the satellite on the control panel, then select the satellite

of room on the roof anyway so no problem here. This is the ultimate dome available and

How big a dish can I carry in Spain?
The biggest dish we do with a folding arm is the Triax TD 88 90cm dish.
This will work in most of Europe including southern France but will struggle Spain,
only working North of Barcelona on all channels. It will work in all of Spain on some
channels but the weakest channels are the BBC and ITV and they really need a 1.0m dish
by the time you get to Barcelona and bigger even further south.
We have sold the excellent 1.0m Aluminum Funke dish to tourers in Spain as this dish
is light and quite easy to carry but it does not have a folding arm and 4 bolts need
taking out to remove the reflector. Buying some wing nuts will make this process faster.
The Triax 1.1m dish which might work on the weakest channels as far south as Madrid
is a big heavy dish to carry and could, with some modification have a folding arm.
The arm does fold like the TD 88 but the reflector would need cutting with a hacksaw
above where the arm comes through to give it the clearance to fold without the reflector
getting in the way. It will fold if this modification is done.
